It should be thick enough to create a seal around your hair, but not too much it’ll weigh down your curls and prevent the moisture to penetrate into the scalp well.
For me, I use a leave-in conditioner that I make myself.
It’s just the right texture, so it stays in my hair and keeps it from drying out.
2. Wash Your Hair, After.
When you wash your hair, you want to get rid of all the conditioner you applied.
This is why it’s important to condition your hair first.
Once you’re done washing your curls, rinse it thoroughly with water and then towel dry.
Naturally, you’ll have some conditioner left on your strands, so when you comb it, it’ll stick to your hair, and you’ll end up with tangles.
To avoid this, just comb through your curls and avoid rubbing it down with your fingers.
If you do it the other way, you’ll end up with a lot of products stuck to your strands, making them end up looking oily.
The right amount of conditioner
If you look at the instructions on your conditioner, you’ll see that it usually says something like “add to conditioner and lather well.”
This means that you’ll want to add your conditioner and then lather it with water.
Once you’ve lathered it well, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
The reason why you rinse is to get rid of all the conditioner you added.
Failing to do that, means you’ll end up with a lot of products stuck to your curls, and making it end up looking greasy.

How to Make the Avocado Hair Mask
Here is my list of ingredients you will need to make the perfect avocado mask:
- 1 Medium Avocado (ripe)
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 tbsp Honey
- 3 tbsp Rosemary oil
- 3 tbsp coconut milk (unsweetened)
Step 1: Prep Your Hair
Start by washing your hair with a gentle shampoo and conditioner. If your hair is dry, apply a generous amount of conditioner and leave it on for 10 minutes.
Step 2: Prep Your Avocado
First, you need to get the pit of the avocado, cut it in half, remove the skin and move to scoop out the flesh into a fresh, clean bowl.
Step 3: Mash the Avocado
Mash the avocado flesh with a fork. It is important to use a fork, as you don’t want to mix any ingredients that are hard or sharp.
Step 4: Mix Your Ingredients
Combine the avocado and the other ingredients in a bowl.
Step 5: Apply the Avocado Hair Mask
Once it is ready, apply the mask evenly, and massage the mixture thoroughly with fingers.
Let it sit for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it is completely dry.
Step 6: Rinse and Condition
Once you’ve lathered it well, rinse with warm water, to get rid of all the conditioner you added. That, or end up with a lot of products stuck to your hair, making it all looking greasy.
