There are thousands of reasons why having my curls is a blessing, but frizz is just not one of them.
This bothersome beauty blooper may be a real pain, and many curly girls wind up putting up with it unwillingly.
I mean, if you struggle with frizzy, tangled, and unmanageable curls, you’ve probably tried almost everything to keep your curls healthy and are having a tough time finding products for curly frizzy hair that actually work.
We’re going to talk it out in this post, I promise.
But before I do that.. please brace yourself for the information I’m about to share with you: with so many curl types, each with their own distinct degrees of health/damage or thinness/thickness, it’s difficult to grasp the idea that a single curl cream or style would give the same result with a type 4 hair as it would for 2c/3a curls.
Shocking? I hope not.
Fortunately, after consulting with some of the industry’s best professionals, I am determined to fight back against this bothersome beauty ailment with a fury, and we’re letting you in with some top-notch products to help you fight your frizz-fighting adventure.

Dove Advanced Hair Series Supreme Crème Serum
The Dove Advanced Hair Series Supreme Crème Serum is a lightweight serum that is formulated for use on dry or damaged hair.
It has a blend of hydrating and regenerating ingredients to keep your hair soft and strong, while the light scent helps it to feel good on the scalp.
The thing I also love about Dove Advanced Hair Series Supreme Crème Serum is that it also works as a leave-in conditioner.
The product is very easy to use. After cleansing and conditioning, simply massage a small amount of the serum into the hair and leave it for a few minutes.
This will let your serum absorb into the hair, and it will leave your hair soft and smooth.
This is a great alternative to a conditioner that contains silicone or silicone-like ingredients. It is great for daily use, and you will be able to see the difference in your hair after just a few weeks.

Briogeo Curl Charisma Defining Hair Mask
Holly Dear of House of Dear Hair Salon stated that when hair is dry, or the pH balance is increased, the cuticle opens, and the hair frizzes.
With the perfect shampoos and conditioners, you’ll preserve the pH balance in your hair.
Celebrity hairdresser Michelle Cleveland agreed with Dear and suggested beginning your frizz-fighting quest in the shower with nourishing shampoo based on your curl type.
Shampoos that are sulfate-free yet hydrating and cleansing your hair without stripping it of natural oils are one the best products for curly frizzy hair you must have in your repertoire, don’t you think?
I was interested to see if Briogeo Curl Charisma could be the one to also work well with me.
I love that it’s a leave-in conditioner that can be used both wet and dry. It also claims to help promote healthy, lustrous hair.
I picked up Briogeo Curl Charisma from my local Walgreens store. It retails for $10.99, which is a little pricey, but I figured it would be worth it.
I am glad to say I was right.

How to Choose The Best Curly Hair Product for Your Crunchy Frizzy Curls, Right Now?
The most significant turning point in your hair journey was never about the product but rather determining your curl porosity, i.e., how much water your curls can absorb and repel.
Once you’ve determined the right formula for your curls, only then can you find the best curly hair products for your texture and style.
Low porosity curls need lightweight products and heat treatments to look their best, but high porosity curls require butter, oils, and proteins to be healthy.
To understand this better, we asked Hairdressers across the UK to tell us what they use on high porosity hair.
They told us that the products they use on high porosity hair are usually the same products they use on normal hair, but with a few adjustments.
These adjustments can be in the type of products used or the amount used, or a combination of both.
For that, let’s take a look at the basic properties of each curl type.
Low Porosity Curls
Low porosity curls are the result of a slow oxidation process that takes place within the hair shaft.
As the hair shaft oxidizes, it breaks down and loses moisture, resulting in a reduction of the hair’s elasticity.
If the hair shaft oxidizes too quickly, it can become brittle, dry, and even break.
When the hair shaft oxidizes slowly, it is called a low porosity curl.
Low porosity curls require a combination of heat and moisture to look their best.
High Porosity Curls
High porosity curls are are a result of an increased number of pores in the curl pattern and are typically achieved through the use of special treatment or chemicals to create the pattern.
The most popular technique for creating high porosity curls is through the use of hot rollers.
This method involves heating the hair while it is wrapped around a roller and then rolling it up.
In theory, any curl cream may be used as air-dry hair cream. However, if you have ultra-fine curls, you know how difficult it is to find a curl-specific solution that isn’t too heavy.
If your curls are always dry, try silicone-free hair oil for your hair care regimens.
Find the one that contains a blend of oils (including safflower, sweet almond, argan, and castor) to smooth and define your hair without feeling heavy like traditional coconut oil-based products.
As a pre-poo treatment, massage it into your scalp, or spread it over your wet and dry ends to seal in moisture and shine.
If you suffer from the dry scalp all year, try soothing scalp serum, which contains nutritious plant oils and natural extracts (such as sunflower oil, turmeric, amla fruit extract, and bakuchi) to mildly hydrate and relax your scalp without feeling greasy or heavy.
When it comes to our hair, we have some of the most sensitive, beautiful, and powerful bits of ourselves. And when we don’t treat them, the right thing just doesn’t usually end well for us.
You probably spent hours looking for the right products for curly frizzy hair to try on your hair.
I’ve been there too.
I’ve spent too many hours (and dollars!) trying to get my hair to behave. But it was always the same.
My hair would look perfect for a couple weeks, then it would start to frizz. I’d go to bed frustrated with my hair, only to wake up in the morning and find that it had grown even more unruly than the day before.
So if you want to get the best out of your hair, you need to invest in a good line of products.
Probably get one (or two!) from this list, try them on, and you can thank me later!
